Satwik Chirag Wins China Masters Super 750 Title

Satwik Chirag’s China Masters Super 750 title win ended a difficult run in the tournament finals as the Indian pair defeated He Ji Ting and Ren Xiang Yu 11-21, 21-13, 21-17 in Shenzhen on Sunday. The victory gave Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty a much-needed title after two previous defeats in China Masters finals.

The Satwik-Chirag China Masters Super 750 title win came after the Indians surrendered the opening game 11-21. He Ji Ting and Ren Xiang Yu controlled the early exchanges with fast, flat rallies, leaving Satwik and Chirag struggling to establish their attacking rhythm.

The Indians changed their approach in the second game, producing stronger returns and taking greater control around the net. They won the game 21-13, forcing the contest into a deciding game and putting pressure back on the Chinese pair.

The China Masters Super 750 final then became a test of composure. Satwik and Chirag maintained their intensity in the decider and closed out the match 21-17. Satwik produced five points in the final game through his work at the net, including points created while serving and receiving.

The result also offered a breakthrough in an area that had troubled the Indian pair since the period before the Paris Olympics. Opponents had repeatedly targeted Satwik’s serve and the first three shots of rallies with flat, fast exchanges, contributing to three lost Tour finals.

Satwik’s improved handling of the service situation was particularly important during the China Masters Super 750 final. Instead of becoming tentative under pressure, he showed greater confidence in his returns and allowed the pair to build rallies on their own terms.

For the Indian duo, the Satwik Chirag China Masters Super 750 title win was not simply about recovering from a first-game deficit. It showed their ability to adjust during a match and maintain their composure when the contest moved into its decisive stages.

The Shenzhen triumph ended their finals jinx at the tournament and provided a strong reward for the changes made to their game. The China Masters Super 750 final also showed how effective Satwik and Chirag can be when their net play, returns and temperament come together at the right time.
